Why you should have a Wedding in the Mountains

A Mountain Wedding can be the perfect event for you and your fiance. As a destination wedding spot, Estes Park is home to over 2,000 weddings per year. Why you ask? Well, first off, let me start with the views. Rocky Mountain National Park is adjacent to Estes Park which offers you a 360 degree view no matter where you are in town.

If you have dreamed of having a wedding in the mountains, then you will be pleasantly surprised by what Estes Park has to offer. With your guests traveling far and wide for your big day, they are able to make a vacation out of it as well. Rocky Mountain National Park was voted #2 on Trip Advisor's Top 10 Adventure and Outdoor destinations in the World!!

Your Rocky Mountain Wedding should reflect you and your fiance and your wedding 'theme'. One way to do that is by venue selection. Estes Park offers many different types of venues, all which offer something a little bit different. From a small lodge for an elopement, or a grand wedding in a historic ballroom, there is something for everyone. With many local vendors, you can be sure that they are working together on your wedding -- even if you are miles away.

A Rocky Mountain Wedding can be the wedding of your dreams. Imagine a breathtaking view in an unforgettable setting. A weekend full of memories that you and your future husband will make with friends and family. Come to Estes Park and let us plan the wedding of your dreams!!

The Wedding Planner gets married!

All my wedding day dreams came true. I feel so blessed to have had such an amazing wedding experience. It's been 7 days since we got married and I am ready to do it all over again! It was just amazing. I had the pleasure of working with many of my colleagues from the Estes Park Wedding Association which was a blast. Our ceremony was set to be in a meadow near Rocky Mountain National Park. We had planned for no leaves on the trees being that it's so late in October. Wow, were we pleasantly surprised. The colors were at their peaks and the weather could not have been more perfect. I arrived in a 1967 pickup and walked down the aisle with both of my parents and music from Nobility Strings. Our officiant, Father Frank Gold gave the best ceremony I had ever heard. He even tied in a poem that Chris' mom had wrote before she passed. It was beautiful. We combined our love of nature and had a tree planting ceremony instead of a traditional unity candle. It felt amazing to give back and to know that we have something that will be growing because of us, but long after we are gone.

I was honored to have Nathan from Dreamtime Images shoot our wedding, and I can't get over how amazing the photos are. He even climbed 20 feet up an Aspen to get a shot of us! We then made our way back to Lakeshore Lodge where our guests were awaiting our arrival. What fun we had with a slideshow, and music provided by Matt from Amore Entertainment. My birch bark centerpieces that I worked so hard on were incorporated well with flowers from Nancy at Blooms Mountain Floral. Everyone danced the night away and enjoyed yummy mini desserts from Sweet Celebration. For our cake, we incorporated a swedish 'princess torte' being that we are both swedish. Marci from Colorado Rose Cake Company did an outstanding job on it!!

The wedding planning for me was totally different, being that it was my turn to be the bride. I had so much fun and I have to say every bit of planning was worth it. My husband and I wanted it to be a day that reflected who we are, and celebrate our families joining as one. It was a moment in ALL of our lives that we will never forget.

Invitations and YOUR Wedding

One of the first things your guests will receive for their wedding is the invitation. Your invitation is really your wedding's 'first impression'. It will give your guests an idea of what to expect. So, this is your chance to create that feel. There are many great resources for your invitations and I won't go into all of them, except to say that do some research, look at lots of designs, and find one that fits what you are looking for. You can order all-inclusinve invitation suites where each piece (invite, response, table numbers, escort cards) all match each other. Or, there are great resources at your local craft store, or www.paper-source.com where you can DIY and save some money. For Nicole and Todd's wedding I'm planning this fall they chose to go with an actual wood invitation. This is my new favorite thing. The invitation is laser engraved into beetle kill wood which makes this an eco-friendly option. The RSVP and envelopes are coordinating wood veneer that can be written on. I love that each piece coordinates with the Tree symbol. They are taking that through their wedding with small tree magnets with their initials as part of their favors. Take a look below and check out this amazing product. www.stampworldonline.com
